Welcome to 2nd Toowoomba Scout Troop
Scouts are aged between 10 ½ - 15 years.
Scouting helps young people to grow and develop as responsible, contributing members of society. It does this by providing opportunities and guidance for their physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development.
Scouts is defined as ‘learning by doing’. We do this through activities such as camping, cooking, hiking, abseiling, canoeing, navigation, games, community involvement, environmental awareness, construction, water activities, leadership, first aid training etc, etc. The possibilities are endless.
When a Scout is invested, they pledge to follow a code of living outlined in the Scout Promise and Law. They are –
The Scout Promise
On my honour
I promise to do my best
To do my duty to my God
To the Queen of Australia
To help other people
And to live by the Scout Law.
The Scout Law
A Scout is trustworthy
A Scout is loyal
A Scout is helpful
A Scout is friendly
A Scout is cheerful
A Scout is considerate
A Scout is thrifty
A Scout is courageous
A Scout is respectful
A Scout cares for the environment
